Evaluation Task 4 - How Did You Use New Media Technologies in the Construction, Research, Planning and Evaluation Stages

CAMERA & TRIPOD:
I used a camera and tripod to film my trailer, I shot my trailer over the course of three days, which you can find in these vlog links where I document my production as I film:

The camera and tripod were essential to the construction of the trailer as a lot of the footage in both the trailer itself and the vlogs helped the backbone of other projects like the magazine and other projects for other courses I'm doing. In these vlogs, the use of the camera is examplified and the lack of the tripod in one of the vlogs shows how lost I'd be without this equipment.

PREMIERE PRO:
Premiere pro is the software I used to edit my trailer. Considering that 831 companies use it for marketing (which is what I'm trying to do with my trailer) and over 1200 companies use it for entertainment and media production combined, I thought it'd be a reliable and appropriate to use to edit my trailer as oppose to less reliable software that I've had unfortunate experience with (Filmora, Lightworks). Premiere pro allowed me to edit the footage, add font and music and overall, this is the main software that helped in my post production as it practically made my trailer.

PHOTOSHOP:
I used photoshop to design the poster and the magazine of my coursework. Understanding the tools of photoshop allowed me to create a conventional poster and magazine as well as experiment creating unconventional, original and creative new ideas. Granted, this could affect the appeal of the poster and trailer as they do abnormal things, but it helps the product gain a new identity and as photoshop is used by nearly 200,000 companies, I think it's safe to say that photoshop was a reliable, mainstream and appropriate software to use when designing my products.

YOUTUBE:
From my research, I gathered that the most popular platform for trailers now is Youtube and that should be the prime location for my trailer, with the Avengers Infinity war trailer now passing 150 million views, it is easy to see why film conglomerates prefer internet marketing to Television marketing nowadays. Now that I've uploaded my trailer, anyone can watch it and anyone can share it on other popular media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

FACEBOOK:
Facebook was my main way of not only spreading my content to friends and outside Youtube, but subscribers of my channel also got to share it to their friends. This was a great way to spread awareness as well as using convergence to advertise my film on an online platform as well as using synergy by uploading the video on one platform and sharing it on another platform.
