JOE Poster
The font is colourful to connote the comedic side of the film and to compensate for how dark the rest of the poster is. It contrasts with the black, making all details easy to read. Loser and Joe are coloured pink as pink is considered not very cool for a male character, fitting the word "loser" and connoting that the main character either isn't cool or doesn't fit in with the rest.
The main title has a punchline in the sense that the title is so long that it doesn't fit on the poster. The tagline helps amplify the joke. This meta joke will make most people laugh, no matter the audience. The title itself is similar to another black comedy: Dr Strangelove or: How i learned to stop worrying and love the bomb. This helps connote the kind of cynical humour there is.
The main image is a compilation of all the characters outside of Joe, because the whole point is that Joe is an outcast that you won't notice in a school. He's a nobody. This is set to a backdrop of Longsands Academy, establishing location. Joe is appropriately sat on the title, next to his name. He is so small in comparison to the others, connoting how pathetic and forgettable he is.
The rating is a twelve because, while there is little offensive language in the film, it has a mean spirited tone, a humour most children younger than twelve won't get and the whole film is set in a school where the protagonist is a loser. Teenagers can relate to it and adults can appreciate how real the school and characters are, despite the cartoonish fourth wall breaking.
The website links help as convergence. It also fits the teenage audience as most of them are on the internet more than anything else.
The release date is a little reference to the actual film seeing how the final draft was uploaded on the twenty fourth of january 2017.
The company logo is named after my surname; no one knows it, hence why it's small. And seeing how none of my friends are famous either, I turned that into a joke itself. This once again makes viewers laugh and make them want to see more. It also helps connect with teenagers as they all want to be famous, when they know life isn't that simple.
