The Evolution of my Magazine so far.
In my first draft, I've included images from my other projects to add a sense of variety with the films of discussion as most magazines are about multiple films rather than just one. I also thought that the main image should be a clip from the making of the movie rather than the movie itself as a lot of people like to know the behind the scenes of the films and it's part of why people read film magazines. The critic vs critic headline at the top was there to cover up blank space and the idea came from the fact that not only do people listen to critics (some of them having millions of subscribers on Youtube) but as proven by Siskel and Ebert, people love watching people argue. So I thought it'd be both funny and fitting to have a headline suggesting two critics going head to head against eachother and fighting over a movie. What I didn't like about this magazine though was that there was a lot of space that could have been covered up.
This second draft has a film reel in the back to fill up some of the blank space. Not only does the film reel connote movies (what the magazine is about) but it also contains clips from the film I am advertising. So this works as a cross promotion as people who have watched the trailer will recognize them and people who read the magazine will recognize the images when they see the trailers. I still felt like there was some space that could be filled up however.
For the third draft, this is why I added the sub heading below the main heading. "Interviews and Q&As with the Knight himself!" This not only promises a lot of material that fans of celebrities love to read as interviews with them gives us more knowledge of the person themselves and the work they're doing, but the punchline is funny, making the magazine seem less like a boring magazine for critics and analysts, but for the everyday man as well. People will remember it more no matter how cheesy the line is. Things I need to include in my final draft is a price as well as website links to add to the convergence.
